Ready to take your English to the next level?

Our Elective English Course for 6th+7th grade or 8th grade gives you the chance to dive deeper into the language, sharpen your communication skills, and discover the world through English.

In this course, the focus is on speaking and presenting with confidence. You’ll explore current local and global topics—from politics and science to art, culture, and society—and learn how to express your ideas naturally and clearly. Expect lively discussions, interactive tasks, and plenty of opportunities to use English in real-life situations.

But this course is not just about classroom learning. You’ll also

• visit exhibitions, museums, cinemas, and English theatre,
• meet native speakers,
• attend talks and lectures, and
• experience traditions and festivals from the English-speaking world.

Get hands-on with creative activities:
For example, bake scones for a traditional 5 o’clock tea, prepare a Thanksgiving dinner, make your own Christmas crackers, recite poems at Burns Night, design a Valentine’s Day card, dress up for St. Patrick’s Day, or watch Romeo and Juliet on Shakespeare Day. Learning English has never been this fun!

You can take the two-year course (6th and 7th grade) or only the one-year course (8th grade). Students who complete the two-year course also have the opportunity to take the oral Matura examination in English.
