Becca’s experience

I was blown away by the students at GWIKU18. Their English level is impressive; their passion and interest for the world around them inspiring. Whether it was asking questions about the US election process and other American peculiarities, to figuring out and thinking through exactly how to answer my own questions I threw at them, to one on one conversations where any pretext of a hierarchical teacher-student interaction fell apart – these students have very much been the highlight of my time abroad.

I think what has changed for me the most is that I’m now reconsidering exactly what I’d like to do post-graduation. I forgot how much I loved teaching! I’m honored that the students shared a bit of themselves with me every time I come in, and it brings me joy that I was able to do the same for them. I will miss the friendly faces that greet me every Monday morning.
